Upon your admission to the hospital, you will be asked to sign a general permission form that allows the health care team to perform exams, tests and procedures. Before tests and procedures, your doctor will inform you of the risks and benefits.
Lenox Hill Hospital has an Emergency Management Program, which has the goal of reducing the loss of life and property, and to protect the facility from natural, technological and man-made hazards through the use of an all-hazards comprehensive management program of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
The hospital routinely conducts emergency management drills and exercises to test staff awareness and improve facility operations to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. The Office of Patient Experience provides Language and Communication Access Services for people with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) or people who prefer to have their health information provided in a language other than English. Free medical interpretation and document translation services are available 24/7. Sign language interpretation services for deaf and hearing-impaired patients and specific communication tools for speech-impaired patients are also available.

Lenox Hill Hospital offers valet parking to our patients and visitors at discounted rates daily between 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Valet parking is located at the main entrance at 100 East 77th St.
Rapid Park, located at 165 East 77th St. (between Lexington and Third Avenues), also offers Lenox Hill Hospital patients and their families special parking rates for up to five hours. The goal of the Food and Nutrition Department is to provide wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals that aid in your treatment and recovery. Lenox Hill Hospital makes every effort to provide nutritious meals prepared to your satisfaction. Your meals are prepared fresh daily to ensure the best dining experience.
We provide room service dining that offers our patients a hotel-style dining experience. Our call center is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. To place an order, call ext. 42270 or (212) 434-2270. Please allow 45 minutes for our room service team to freshly prepare and deliver your meal. To provide help to our patients in an Intensive Care Unit, a room service host will come to the patient’s bedside to take his or her order. You are encouraged to send all of your valuables home with a family member or friend. Lenox Hill Hospital cannot be responsible for replacement of personal belongings. If you would like to keep your valuables with you in the hospital, they can stay with you in your room, or they may be placed in the hospital’s safe. Please contact your nurse for more information about using the hospital’s safe.

Quiet Hours are from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily. We ask all staff, patients and visitors to help maintain a restful, healing environment for our patients. During this time, please lower your voices, limit visitors at the bedside and place cell phones on vibrate.
The Rapid Response System brings a group of professionals to the bedside or to a particular location quickly. This team will assess the patient, provide treatment and request additional support as needed. If you have any questions, speak with a member of your care team.

Professional chaplains are available to provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families of all faiths. They are trained to listen in an open and nonjudgmental way. Chaplains make visits to patients and families upon request. Lenox Hill Hospital offers three types of rooms based on availability:
Patients should use the call button to move from their bed and when they have needs in the hospital. A member of the nursing team will come to the room or answer through the intercom at the nurses station. The bathroom in the room is for patients only, and an emergency call chain is present if you need help.
Patients may be transferred between rooms or floors because of medical needs, to accommodate another patient’s medical needs or upon personal request. Although the hospital cannot guarantee that a patient’s request will be met upon arrival, we do everything we can to arrange the requested accommodations during a patient’s stay.
